ANY-maze Help > The ANY-maze reference > The Protocol page > The elements of a protocol > Additional information > Animal ID > Specifying the name to be used for the animal ID Specifying the name to be used for the animal ID
In briefIf you choose to use your own animal IDs, you can optionally specify what you want ANY-maze to call the IDs by entering it into the field on the Animal ID settings page DetailsBy default, ANY-maze will call animal IDs 'Animal ID', but you might already have a name for them - for example 'Tail number' - and it would probably make things much clearer for you if the IDs were referred to using the terminology you're already familiar with. To change the name, just delete the default entry of 'Animal ID' and enter your own name. You can enter anything you like up to 32 characters, although it's best to try to use a short name as it will be used as a column heading in a spreadsheet. You must enter something. You can edit the name at any time.
