Printing, copying and saving results

It's very simple to print, copy, save or even e-mail ANY-maze results reports:

 To print a results report
 To copy a results report
 To save a results report
 To e-mail a results report

To print a results report

The quickest way to print a results report is to click the Print and then select Quick print from the menu which appears. This will print the entire report to the default printer.

If you would like more control over how, or where, the report will be printed, then rather than selecting Quick print from the menu, you should select Print. This will open a window where you can select which printer to use, the number of copies to print, etc.

To select just a part of a report to be printed, you should move the mouse pointer to the left-hand side of the report page and, when the cursor changes to a right-pointing arrow, click the left-hand mouse button to select the appropriate lines.

To copy a results report

The easiest way to copy a results report is to click the Copy in the ribbon bar. It will then be possible to paste the report into other programs such as Microsoft Word.

As for printing (see above), you can copy just a part of a report by using the mouse to select the appropriate lines.

To save a results report

You can save a results report in a number of different formats. The one you choose will depend on what you intend to do with the saved file:

HTMLThis is the format used to display web pages, and you will be able to view reports saved in this format using any web browser. This can be useful if you want to view the report on a computer which isn't running ANY-maze. This format has one disadvantage which is that graphics (graphs, track plots, etc.) are saved in separate files which can make it a little unwieldy to work with the saved report.
Web archiveThis is a special format which is only supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer. Its main difference to HTML format is that the entire report is saved in a single file - if you expect to view a report on a machine equipped with Internet Explorer, then this is the best format to use.
Rich text formatRich text format, which is sometimes abbreviated to just RTF, is used by Microsoft Word. If you want to open a saved report in Word - perhaps to include it in a report, or maybe to edit it - then this is the best format to save it in.
Text formatA report saved in text format is more or less universal. However, the big disadvantage of this format is that all graphics and most formatting are lost. You should only use this format if none of the others are suitable.

To actually save a report, you should click the Save button in the ribbon bar. This will cause the Save file window to open, where you can specify a name for the saved file, select the format you wish to use and choose where it should be stored.

If you only want to save a part of a report, then move the mouse to the left side of the report page and, when the cursor changes to a right-pointing arrow, select the appropriate lines.

To e-mail a results report

You can easily e-mail a results report directly from within ANY-maze. To do this, simply click the Send as e-mail button in the ribbon bar.

When you do this, a window will open where you can enter (or select) the address of the recipient and type a subject line and message. The report itself will be attached to the message as a separate file and you can choose the format for the attachment from the following options:

Web archiveThis is the best format to use as the report will be attached as a single file. However, the resulting report will only be readable in Microsoft Internet Explorer and not in other web browsers.
HTMLUse this format if you can't use Web archive format, because the recipient doesn't have Internet Explorer.
Rich text formatThis format can be read by Microsoft Word and is the best choice if you expect the recipient will want to edit the report - or at least include it in a Word document.
Text formatThis is the least satisfactory format, as any graphics and most formatting will be lost. Nevertheless, it can be useful if none of the other formats are suitable.

Again, you can move the mouse to the left-hand side of the report to select just a part of the report to include in the e-mail.
