Problems with cameras

Introduction
There aren't many things that can go wrong with ANY-maze cameras and most of them are easy to fix. A few minutes here and you'll probably have your answer - alternatively contact ANY-maze Support.
My camera isn't listed under on the ANY-maze Video page
Essentially this means that ANY-maze doesn't know your camera exists. Try these steps:
| | 1. | Usually you should install any software that came with the camera before you plug the camera into the computer. If you've not installed the software then unplug the camera, install the software and then plug the camera back in again. But do check the camera's instructions first, they may tell you to do things in a different order. | |
| | 2. | Switch off your computer and switch it on again. Check whether the camera is now listed. | |
| | 3. | Try reinstalling the software which came with the camera. Then use an application provided with the camera to view the image the camera's providing - if this doesn't work then refer the problem to the camera's manufacturer. | |
| | 4. | If all else fails contact ANY-maze Support. | |
I don't get a picture from my camera
Try the following:
| 1. | First the obvious - check the lens cap isn't on! | |
| 2. | Check the camera is plugged into the power. | |
| 3. | Check that the video cable is plugged into the camera and digitizer correctly. | |
| 4. | If possible check the camera with a different video cable. | |
| 5. | If you have a manual iris lens make sure then iris isn't completely closed. | |
| 6. | If you have an auto iris lens make sure the cable from the lens is plugged into the camera. | |
| 7. | Try adjusting the lens focus. | |
| 8. | If all else fails refer back to the camera supplier. | |
I can't fit my lens to my camera
There are two standard lens mounts, C and CS. Some cameras accept one, some the other, and some both. If your lens won't fit, the lens and camera may not be compatible.
Check your camera documentation - you may find the camera can accept both lens types. In this case you usually have to physically adjust a flange where the lens screws into the camera before the lens will fit.
My lens has a cable coming out of it - where should I plug it in?
You have an auto-iris lens and this cable connects to the camera. There should be a socket in the side of the camera where the cable will fit. If there isn't a socket then you have a camera which can't be used with an auto-iris lens. You will need to change either the lens or the camera.
My video cable has the wrong type of connection for my camera
Cameras usually have BNC connectors but lots of video cables have RCA connectors on them. You can easily buy a BNC-RCA or RCA-BNC adaptor - a search of Google for 'BNC RCA adaptor' should turn up some options.
The picture from my camera is black-and-white in other programs, such as Zoom
This problem can arise if ANY-maze exits unexpectedly as it won't have had a chance to set the camera back to colour mode (remember, ANY-maze uses black and white pictures and so it sets cameras to black and white mode). Resolving this problem is simple:
| | • | Switch to the Video page. | |
| | • | Select the camera, so you see the image from it. | |
| | • | Exit from ANY-maze. When ANY-maze exits it will set the camera back to colour mode. | |
