The Ugo Basile Atlantis Platform

Introduction

Ugo Basile Water Maze Atlantis Platforms are made of clear Perspex and are operated by hydraulic force, with the electrical parts of the mechanism located safely outside the pool. Four platforms can be lifted and lowered with the same controller, allowing for accurate and repeatable positioning of one platform per quadrant.

Atlantis Platforms can be controlled manually using the switches on the control box, or by using an I/O interface with TTL outputs. The ANY-maze TTL cable can be used to control a single platform, or you can use the ANY-maze Digital interface if you have multiple platforms.

To use the UB Atlantis Platform with ANY-maze, you need to:

Connect your TTL Cable or digital interface to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Connect the Up and Down inputs on the Atlantis Platform control box (40100-001) to two of the TTL outputs on your TTL cable or digital interface.
Connect the Atlantis Platform control box to mains power and switch it on.
Use the thumbwheel selector on the control box to set the height of the raised platform (instructions can be found in the manual).
Put the device into Manual control mode (set the 'RMT' switch at the bottom right of the control box to Off)
Set the device into 'Pulse' mode (set the 'C/P' switch at the top right of the control box to 'P', i.e. the LED should be on).

More detailed instructions for these stages can be found in the manual supplied with the Atlantis Platform system.
