An introduction to selectors

Introduction

A selector in ANY-maze is an output port that aggregates a number of output switches (and optionally, an on/off input used as for 'feedback'). Changing the selector value will cause multiple outputs to be changed at the same time.

Selectors are only available on certain types of device (such as the ANY-maze Operant interface and Ugo Basile Operon).
Selectors will not appear in the protocol list unless a protocol mode is selected which supports Selectors.

Physically connecting a selector to ANY-maze

Selectors are currently only supported on the ANY-maze Operant interface and the Ugo Basile Operon.

Some of the components that can be assed to the ANY-maze Operant interface have multiple outputs, and are therefore treated as Selectors for ease of use. More details can be found under Configuring the ANY-maze Operant interface.

Selectors on the Ugo Basile Operon are built into the device and cannot be changed.
