IntroductionThe ANY-maze Operant interfaces are designed to provide a straightforward way for ANY-maze to control the broad range of operant equipment available from Med Associates, Lafayette Instrument and Coulbourn Instruments.

DetailsStandard operant components from the respective manufacturers, such as levers, lights, pellet dispensers, etc. can be plugged straight in to an ANY-maze Operant interface, which connects directly to the PC via USB. You can tell ANY-maze about the components you have connected using a user-friendly configuration window, and these components will then be automatically added into your protocol ready to use. ANY-maze's procedures can then be used to define how you'd like the components to work in your tests. ANY-maze supports running tests in multiple Operant cages simultaneously; Setup can be performed for all cages at once and the components will all be added to your protocol in one go. Getting started with your ANY-maze Operant interfaceTo get up and running with your ANY-maze Operant interface, we recommend that you do the following:
You can also take a look at the example 'Operant conditioning experiment', which is available using the Open example experiment option on the File page. (This uses 'dummy' operant interfaces, but can show you a very simple experiment setup including a couple of procedures).
