Setting up the interfaceThe various steps involved in setting up the interface are detailed below. Note that some steps are common to all ANY-maze interfaces and are described in generic topics that do not explicitly reference the ANY-maze Operant interface C.
Renumbering and renaming the interfacesANY-maze automatically names the Operant interface Cs connected to it as "Operant cage X", where X is a unique number given (by ANY-maze) to each cage. You can change both the name and the number of the interfaces. Changing the number is almost always useful as the numbers are very unlikely to be in what you would consider to be a logical order. For example, if you have 4 operant cages on bench then it would probably make sense to you to number them 1 to 4 from the left to the right, but ANY-maze will have given them seemingly random number, so they might be 3, 1, 4, 2. Of course if you only have one operant interface then it will be numbered '1' and you probably won't want to renumber it.
