The Charts panel

Introduction

The Charts panel shows one or more charts. You can add any number of charts to a single panel, or can set up separate panels for each chart - for more information, see Settings used when a chart is displayed live.

Details

For a general introduction to charts, see An introduction to charts. For more information about how to set up an individual chart, see Setting up a chart.

There are a number of ways that you can interact with the charts shown in the Charts panel, such as adjusting their axes, measuring values, copying or saving the charts, etc. - these are all described in detail in Working with charts.

The following button is specific to this panel. When the Charts panel is the promoted (main) panel, this will appear alongside the test control buttons in the tool bar at the top of the window; otherwise it will appear as the title of the tabbed section when the Charts panel is the currently-selected tab:

Chart settings - Drops a menu giving you options for the chart(s) on this panel. Note that you can access similar options by right-clicking the chart itself.

When this panel is the selected tab, the right-hand side of the tabbed section's title will contain controls relevant to the tabbed display:

Show Help - Displays help on this panel.
Promote panel - Promotes this panel to be the main panel of the Test window.
Collapse tabs - Collapses the tabbed section, to give more space to the promoted panel. The tabbed section can be reinstated by clicking on any tab.
Close panel - Closes this tab, removing it from the tabbed section. It can be re-added using the Panel settings button on the ribbon bar, or the Test window panels section of the protocol.

The information in this panel will generally persist at the end of the test (depending on how you've set the Test window panel settings in the protocol). For more information, see Clearing test information ready for the next test.
